Louis A. King

Louis A. King, P.E., BSEE, MSEE, Honorary Doctoral of Laws Degree

Dr. Louis A. King
Chairman of the Board

Dr. Louis A. King holds a BSEE from the University of Tennessee and a MSEE from the University of Missouri. He received a PE license in Tennessee and Virginia. In December 2007, he received an honorary Doctoral degree from King College in Bristol, Tennessee.

His broadcast consulting business started in 1949. Then in the early 50’s he began manufacturing AM antenna systems and accessories and later founded “Kintronic Labs” in 1962. In his career he has also acquired five US patents. The most notable is for the bistable multivibrator, better known as the “flip-flop circuit”, the basic switching device used in early computers.

Dr. King has been responsible for numerous innovations in RF component designs as well. Under his leadership, Kintronic Labs supplies RF equipment to customers in all 50 states and in over 70 countries on 6 continents. Dr. King was the recipient of the prestigious NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award in April 2007 as a result of his many contributions to the broadcast industry. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for Kintronic Labs, Inc.
