Dummy Load

Dummy loads are usually installed within the vicinity of the transmitter to serve as a dummy antenna for off-the-air testing of the transmitter. Each is custom designed to yield a nominal 50+j0 input impedance over the 530-1700 kHz frequency band (alternative input impedance designs are available upon request). The input RF connection must be specified by the customer. Typical input options include EIA flange or cable clamp assembly depending on the power and impedance. The dummy load ground is routed via a 3-4″ copper ground strap from the dummy load ground connection to the transmitter ground.

Custom Configuration options are available upon request including weatherproofing, stand, meter, etc. We can accommodate most physical customization requests.

The dummy load ground is routed via a 3-4″ copper ground strap from the dummy load ground connection to the transmitter ground. Kintronic Labs manufactures a standard line of AM/MW air-cooled dummy loads rated for input power levels ranging from 1 kw + 125% modulation to 400 kw + 125% modulation.  Higher power dummy loads are available upon request.

Custom Configuration options are available upon request including weatherproofing, stand, meter, etc. We can accommodate most physical customization requests.
