Detuning skirt kits eliminate the re-radiated interference from metal towers located near a pre-existing AM station. 

In the United States, the FCC requires that any new or pre-existing antenna tower, pole or other metal structure installed in the near vacinity of an AM station must not alter the station's licensed radiated pattern. If this situation exists, a detuning kit is essential to comply.

The detuning skirt includes all of the hardware for installation on the tower as well as a weatherproof aluminum enclosure to house the adjustable detuning network.
