Medium Wave Detuning Skirt Kits

Detuning skirt kits eliminate the re-radiated interference from metal towers located near a pre-existing AM station.

In the United States, the FCC requires that any new or pre-existing antenna tower, pole or other metal structure installed in the near vacinity of an AM station must not alter the station's licensed radiated pattern. If this situation exists, a detuning kit is essential to comply.

Kintronics has supplied complete detuning kits for a variety of towers, ranging from cellular and PCS to paging, to television, to utility towers. The detuning skirt includes all of the hardware for installation on the tower as well as a weatherproof aluminum enclosure to house the adjustable detuning network.

Both manually operated as well as motor driven detuning networks for single or multiple frequency detuning requirements are available. Each design is tailored specifically for the AM station incident frequency(s), and customer requirements for installation on the tower of concern.
